Joyride, A to Z: Be

Just be.

Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Breathe in again.

You are a human being, not a human doing.
You are a magnificent child of a loving God.
You are a spark of the divine.

You came here with everything you need for the journey.
You are perfectly whole just as you are.
You have a kind heart and a marvelous mind.
You are magnificent.
You are loved.
And you are love.

Just be.
Just feel.
Just know.

Stop for a moment and be. Close your eyes. Breathe it in.
Be.

Just "being" brings me joy. What brings you joy?

"It happens but seldom
that one of us really sees the other
for a moment a person shows himself
as on a photograph but more clearly
and in the background
something which is bigger than his shadow."

  11. Hi again for another round of A-Z. I have stopped by your blog last year and thought to look your blog up again this year.
This was a wonderful post about being and I read it after your marriage equality post and it fit together perfectly. I loved what you wrote there and I hope that more people will let others be.

  13. Breathing is an art form when practiced slowing and with thought. Thank you for the post. (And I loved the story of your square teeth.)

  14. This post is a perfect reminder of things that I don't normally think about, of things I doubt people normally think about. Its okay to just be and to just breath.

  16. Had to read that twice, take a few deep breaths, and then read it again. (That's the kind of day I've had.) Thank you so much for your being. xo

  17. I tried that once. This is what went through my head.

    - Did I turn the stove off?
    - Gypsy seems awfully quiet.
    - Hmm, perhaps I should have burritos for dinner.
    - I hope Gypsy isn't destroying something expensive
    - No, seriously, did I turn the stove off? I don't remember turning it off.

I think my attention span has been destroyed by Youtube.

    1. You'll kindly notice that I didn't say meditate. All of my attention span fits into a single breath....but not a long breath. :)

  22. I find joy in wonderful memories! Mostly memories of my family but memories of places and friends as well as memories of smells and of sounds. I love to look for joy in all kinds of places, but mostly it has to come from within; that's why I love to store up wonderful memories that I can retrieve when I need to. great post!
